Raleigh Among Best Places For Millennials to Live and Work

Millennials may still be just starting their careers, but there are certainly some metro areas across the country that are more favorable places for the generation to work and live. Commercialcafe recently ranked metros with at least one million residents in relation to categories specific to the millennial worker.

Commercialcafe looked at millennial population growth, population share and did a cost-of-living comparison. It also looked at the millennial unemployment rate, the average commute time, plus the share of millennials with a bachelor’s degree and employer-based health insurance. 

Raleigh, in particular, did well in terms of its low cost of living. The city came in at an admirable number three on the overall list behind Denver and Austin. As far as Raleigh, about 41-percent of working millennials in the city have a bachelor’s degree. The unemployment rate for millennials in Raleigh is just two percent.
