Apex is home to some ultra-upscale housing options. On the high-side, some Apex, NC homes for sale reach well over $1 million. Some of the area’s more expensive subdivisions include Old Thompson Creek, Markham Plantation, and Greyhawk Landing.

However, for home buyers on a smaller budget, plenty of other more affordable options are available as well. Home buyers looking in the $200,000-$300,000 price range will find options in communities like Walden Creek, The Park at Langston, and Surrey Meadows.

Growth in Apex has moved west, and home buyers looking for more rural scenery will want to look south and west. The downtown area closer to Route 1 is more developed.

As of 2017, the estimated median home value in Apex was around $315,000 — a number significantly higher than the median value of $177,400 in 2000. In addition, Apex home values are nearly $100,000 higher than the statewide estimated median home value. Your Apex School Guide

Apex families are served by the Wake County School System. There are 13 public schools in Apex, as well as a number of public charter schools and private schools.

For those looking for higher education, Apex is convenient to the amazing universities the Triangle area is well known for. Apex is also near the Western Wake Campus of Wake Tech Community College.

Need a quiet place to study in Apex? Apex offers two Wake County Library branches. The first is the Eva Perry Regional Library, and it is located at 2100 Shepherds Vineyard Drive. Getting Around Apex NC

Apex sits within a triangle of I-540, Highway 64, and Route 1. Highway 55 runs through the town, connecting Highway 64 and Highway 1. The Apex Peakway is a downtown loop that helps to ease traffic in the town’s center. This excellent roadway connectivity makes car travel in and around Apex relatively easy.

As with most communities in the Triangle area, Apex is considered “car dependent.” However, if walkability is important to you, check out homes for sale in The Villages of Apex and the town center.

There are also 11 miles and counting of greenways in Apex. The greenways not only connect Apex communities for walking and biking, but also connect Apex to neighboring communities including Cary. The ATT (American Tobacco Trail) is also in Apex, which connects to Durham. Future plans will add even more greenway connectivity within Apex and to neighboring areas.

Apex is also served by bikeways. These include US Bicycle Route 1/Carolina Connection, which runs north and south through North Carolina, and US Bicycle Route 5/The Cape Fear Run, which connects Apex to Wilmington.

Public transportation will be expanding in Apex under future plans for the Triangle. Currently, Apex is served by the GoTriangle bus service. Big transportation plans for Wake County will bring more routes, as well as light rail for commuters.

Apex is conveniently located about 20 minutes by car from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, so residents can travel anywhere in the world.
